Diploma Courses

PILC offers a Six month Diploma course in the following disciplines:-

1. Linguistics
2. Anthropology
3. Tamil Literistics - Tolkappiyam and Cankam Literature
4. Folkloristics

A pass in the Certificate course in the concerned discipline is the basic qualification to apply for the Diploma course. Application is available at PILC. The course fee at present is ₹ 1000/-

Certificate Courses

PILC offers a Six month Certificate course in the following disciplines:-

A pass in any Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification to apply for the Certificate course. Application can be obtained from the PILC. The course fee at present is ₹ 1000/-

Tamil Courses for Non-Tamils

PILC conducts Tamil courses for Non-Tamil government officials of Puducherry Union Territory.

1. For PCS Officials- It is mandatory for PCS officers of Puducherry (U.T.) to pass the examination in Tamil. PILC is authorized to conduct Tamil classes for them and it holds the examination on behalf of the Puducherry government.
2. For I.P.S. Officers- Tamil classes are conducted for interested I.P.S. officers, deputed to work in Puducherry administration.
3. For Non-PCS Officers- For Non-PCS officers a course of 100 hours duration is conducted in PILC. The classes are conducted twice a week. The Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms, Puducherry enlists them for this course.
