- Special lectures by eminent scholars from India and abroad are regularly organised. So far 150 special lectures have been organised.
- Collaborative academic programmes are organised in PILC jointly with institutions like Central Institute of Indian Languages, CICT, ICHR, ICCR, SRLC, Sahitya Akademy, FOSSILS, French Institute, Toubingen University (Germany), Kaalachuvadu, Kaaviyaa, PEC, Mailam PG Centre and so on.
- In service training programmes are offered in PILC for foreign Tamil teachers, college teachers, primary/middle/high school teachers. This programme focuses on Modern Linguistic technology, Educational technology, Grammar, Testing & Evaluation.
